Google’s latest Doodle celebrates Halloween as a multiplayer game

Today’s Google Doodle is a Halloween-themed multiplayer game

Google’s Doodle for Halloween is a surprisingly fun multiplayer game

On October 30th, Google shared a new Doodle on its homepage which features a game called The Great Ghoul Duel, and although it's relatively simple, it's surprisingly fun to play.

Marking Google's first-ever multiplayer interactive game Doodle, the Halloween game, called the Great Ghost Duel, pits users around the world against each other in two teams as they try to amass as many points as possible.

Naomi Watts reportedly cast in Game Of Thrones prequel series
It will take place thousands of years before the original series, and focus on the world's descent from the Age of Heroes. Martin appeared to have let the cat out of the bag in terms of what the show is going to be called.

To play the game, go to Google. Appearing on a (presumably haunted) server with random spectres from the Internet, you and your ghostly buddies must collect more spirits than the other team before the timer runs out. You can play it in your browser with mouse or keyboard controls, and it also works fine on mobile devices.

If this one is as addictive like its predecessor, it's probably best to avoid it during working hours - or just don't let your boss see you playing it.

ATP Basel: Roger Federer edges Marius Copil for ninth title in hometown
Kei Nishikori lost his ninth consecutive ATP final after Kevin Anderson won 6-3 7-6 to claim the Erste Bank 500 title in Vienna. But Federer took his foot off the gas early in the second set allowing Copil to establish a 4-1 advantage.

Games run for two minutes, and whichever team collects the most points wins.

The Great Ghoul Duel is a great little time-waster, and I mean that as a honest compliment. They form a long trail behind you and disappear when you bring them back to home base. "The team built several systems to enable this multiplayer gaming, all running on the Google Cloud Platform, including integrating Open Match, a highly-scalable, open source matchmaking framework cofounded by Google Cloud and Unity". Hosting gives you a special link you can share with friends so they can join your game.

Kawhi Leonard to rest Monday in highly anticipated Bucks matchup
After playing six of their first eight games at home, Toronto is on the road for its next four and eight of its next 11. He can score with the ball, he can score without it, he can score in or out, and he can kind of do the same on defence.

Today's Google Doodle multiplayer game is a first for the tech giant.
