Dead brothel owner wins Nevada state assembly seat

Deceased Republican Brothel Owner Dennis Hof Elected To Nevada Assembly

Dead brothel owner Dennis Hof wins Nevada election

Freaky though it may seem, Dennis Hof - who, as it happens, is also the owner of one of Nevada's most famous brothels - still won enough votes to be elected to the state legislature despite having been found dead on October 16.

Dennis Hof defeated Democratic educator Lesia Romanov on Tuesday in the race for Nevada's 36th Assembly District, which includes rural communities and large stretches of desert in the southern part of the state.

"Under state law, the value of the votes from each county commission will be weighted to match the population distribution of each county within the assembly district as of the last USA census", Clark County said.

Mr Hof's campaign manager Chuck Muth said election day was "bittersweet".

His campaign manager had predicted weeks ago that Hof would overcome his own death to clinch the vote because the district leans heavily Republican and even alluded that Hof would perform better due to the situation.

The Nye County Sheriff's Office said Hof was found dead last month at one of his properties in Crystal, Nevada.

Hof was found dead at his Love Ranch brothel about an hour outside Las Vegas.

Before his demise, the deceased had reportedly attempted to mould his political image on that of President Donald Trump, often referring to himself as "Trump from Pahrump" after his hometown in Nevada.

He continued the festivities at his brothel with rap star Flavor Flav and porn star Ron Jeremy, who found Hof dead. The brothel is where National Basketball Association player Lamar Odom was found unconscious in 2015.

Brothels operate legally in seven rural Nevada counties.

He said he faced political retribution this year in the form of an anti-brothel push and regulatory problems.

He said Hof appeared to have died in his sleep.
