Cricket Australia reviews'confronting according to board member Mark Taylor

'Arrogant' Cricket Australia slammed in damning report

Malcolm Speed, James Sutherland's predecessor as chief executive of Cricket Australia, has called for the resignation of the chairman David Peever and his replacement by the former captain Mark Taylor as a signal for "dyed-in-the-wool cricket people" to take back control of the game from an increasingly corporatised Board of the governing body.

While Lehmann's view of the mood of the Australian public might be reflective of the "bubble" the review said surrounded top players, test greats Shane Warne, Adam Gilchrist and Doug Walters have also called for a reduction to the bans. Among the recommendations was an anti-harassment code to stop sledging, and training to improve team leaders' "moral courage".

The former ICC and CA chief executive was particularly concerned that Peever had described the South African ball tampering scandal as a hiccup.

Former global and Australian cricket boss Malcolm Speed has given the most damning criticism yet of David Peever, saying Cricket Australia deserves better.

Waugh said Australia's internal system was such that the players had lost touch with reality, thinking they are larger than the sport. "I have been friends with the recent chairmen of Australian cricket".

Princess Ayako marries commoner
Her split from the royal family comes at a time when women's roles in Japan's monarchy are being called into question. Princess Ayako of the Japanese imperial family has given up her royal title after marrying a commoner Kei Moriya .

The response from the players who did respond was that the bans were appropriate, generally.

The incident was a blow for fans already disillusioned by recent poor behaviour which differs greatly from that of a game historically defined by it's sportsmanship, and led many to question the state of play. That's happened from the start of Australian cricket.

Longstaff recommends the establishment of a CA ethics commission and an Australian Cricket Council which would meet twice a year to consider "issues of strategic significance".

Ironically, the review's most urgent recommendation was for CA and the ACA to establish a constructive working relationship within 30 days. This may involve mediation.

Dyer went to say that the Longstaff report suggests Cricket Australia is also responsible in some ways.

When Apple presents a new iPad and MacBook
It's official: Apple has some more things to announce, and it's going to on October 30 at an event in Brooklyn, N.Y. If none is made, it may be best to wait a bit more to see what bombshell awaits curious Apple loyalists.

The reviews found the administrators were as much to blame as the players for the ball-tampering scandal that drove the game into crisis during the March tour of South Africa.

Asked why so few players took part, Nicholson said some may have given their feedback to the ACA, who then contributed to the review, rather than address the survey directly.

CA supports a recommendation that the role of vice-captain be "de-coupled" from that of "heir apparent" for the captaincy - a move made recently in the test and one-day global teams.

CA has begun to address some of its perceived shortcomings ahead of the review. Howard had been criticised for his involvement.

Pressure was building on Cricket Australia chairman David Peever to resign on Tuesday in the wake of the release of a scathing independent review into the culture of the game.
