"I think for the teams that went towards the end of the World Cup it's a really hard period because so many players have missed pre-season and you're not really sure what physical condition they're in".

Manchester United forward Rashford gave the Three Lions an early lead at home to Spain on Saturday before they fell to a 2-1 Nations League defeat.

England bounced back from three consecutive defeats for the first time in 30 years as a much-changed side edged past Switzerland for a 1-0 friendly win in Leicester thanks to Marcus Rashford's victor.
