Kavanaugh accuser says she is willing to testify before Senate

"He was trying to attack me and remove my clothing". She says there were four boys at the party but only two carried out this alleged assault.

The White House, meanwhile, is issuing a fresh denial on the allegations against Kavanaugh.

Ford is speaking publicly about her allegations against Kavanaugh for the first time, according to a Washington Post investigation published Sunday afternoon. This has not changed.

Senate Democratic leader Chuck Schumer has already said that to push through a vote on Thursday would be an "insult" to American women.

This email will be delivered to your inbox once a day in the morning. "That can not happen in this case".

However, top Democrats are demanding the vote be postponed following the assault allegations. Dick Durbin (D-IL) suggested there may be.

Republicans, however, showed no signs of budging. Many Democrats have called for a delay in the vote, and a handful of Republicans have opened the door to that possibility.

Brett Kavanaugh accuser speaks about alleged sexual misconduct
The letter described what she said was Kavanaugh's sudden and brutal assault on her at a high school party in "the early 1980s". Ford contends that Kavanaugh and a friend , both of whom she described as "stumbling drunk", corralled her into a bedroom.

While fellow Republicans have opened with attacks on the Democrats who raised reasonable questions by holding this potentially damning evidence to the 11th hour, Conway opened her comments by presenting a more sympathetic tone towards the accuser.

Meanwhile, Ford's attorney Debra Katz said on NBC's "Today" that her client would be willing to appear before the committee.

"She believes that but for his inebriation and his inability to take her clothes off, he would have raped her", Katz said.

In late July, Ms Ford sent a letter through Ms Eshoo's office to Senator Feinstein. He said the committee's top Democrat, Senator Dianne Feinstein of California, who was first notified of the allegation in late July, should have brought the matter to the panel earlier.

"Upon receipt of the information on the night of September 12, we included it as part of Judge Kavanaugh's background file, as per the standard process".

London mayor calls for second referendum on Brexit
Khan said: "The need for another public vote on Brexit was never inevitable, or something I ever thought I'd have to call for ". Labour's global trade spokesman Barry Gardiner said a second referendum would throw the Conservative government a lifeline.

At the time, Ford said, she knew Kavanaugh and Judge as "friendly acquaintances" in the private-school social circles of suburban Maryland. She said she was about 15 at the time while Kavanaugh was about 17. At some point in the night, Ford told the Post, she got up to use the bathroom. The results, which Katz provided to the Post, concluded that Ford was being truthful when she said a statement summarizing her allegations was accurate.

From Kavanaugh: "I categorically and unequivocally deny this allegation", Kavanaugh said in a statement issued by the White House. They both laughed as Kavanaugh tried to disrobe me in their highly inebriated state.

Judge also has denied in newspaper interviews that the incident occurred.

She continued, "The Senate Judiciary Committee should put in place a process that enables anyone with a complaint of this nature to be heard".

"In particular, he has always treated women with decency and respect", the letter said.

The committee is due to vote on Thursday on whether his nomination should go forward to a full vote in the Senate.
