At a Las Vegas rally Thursday night, Trump continued to maintain a neutral stance on Ford's claims, telling a crowd of supporters 'We gotta let it play out'.

Attorneys for Ford did a round of interviews after she went public and pledged that she was prepared to testify before the committee.

Emails obtained by ABC News between Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Chuck Grassley's staff and Ford's legal team show that Republican staffers reached out the day after Ford's identity was made public and offered to have her testify later that same week or the following Monday at an upcoming hearing on the Supreme Court nominee.

Trump himself has already cast doubt on Blasey Ford's account, saying that Kavanaugh has not been treated fairly.

Kavanaugh was spotted at the White House on Thursday, and allies said he is eager to address the accusation. But Tuesday, she began insisting on an FBI investigation of her allegations and said other witnesses should also participate in a hearing.

Chuck Grassley, the committee's Republican chairman, on Wednesday sent a letter to Ford's lawyers giving her until 10am (14:00 GMT) on Friday to submit prepared testimony if she meant to show up on Monday.

Kavanaugh has had a relatively smooth confirmation track until the allegations against him were reported last week. While Ford's lawyers have said she is open to testifying, they have rejected the invitation to a Monday hearing.

If Ford opts not to participate, Republicans could well dispense with the hearing to avoid giving Democrats a forum for peppering Kavanaugh with embarrassing questions. Dianne Feinstein of California, a letter requesting anonymity in July.

But, with Kavanaugh denying the accusation and Blasey Ford so far unable to produce witnesses on her own behalf, Grassley and the White House have pressed for her to testify soon in hopes they can get past the controversy and quickly get Kavanaugh approved.

Lawyer Debra Katz writes that Ford's "strong preference" remains a full investigation before she testifies. The Republicans have manufactured a "he said / she said" standoff and are using their own handiwork to make good on a promise to stack the Supreme Court with conservative judges. They also mentioned having only one camera in the room, and said Ford is opposed to being questioned by outside counsel. "To take a man like this and besmirch - now with that being said, let her have her say and let's see how it all works out".
