Grassley said in an interview with conservative radio host Hugh Hewitt. "The FBI is not doing any further investigation".

Her congresswoman, Democrat Anna Eshoo, says in a statement Sunday that she's proud of her constituent for "the courage she has displayed to come forward".

"I am willing to talk to the Senate Judiciary Committee in any way the Committee deems appropriate to refute this false allegation, from 36 years ago, and defend my integrity". Blasey Ford asked for confidentiality, and the allegation was not made public - until this past weekend.

Ford told the Washington post, that she left the main room of the party to use the restroom, which was at the top of a narrow stairway.

'The reason she thought he might inadvertently kill her is because he had her hand over his mouth and she was having a hard time breathing, and he was so inebriated, and because of that, his inability to take her clothes off, otherwise he would have raped her, ' she told 'New Day'. Unlike supreme court justice Elena Kagan, who worked for the Clinton administration and released all of her White House communications during her confirmation process, Kavanaugh has not allowed a full look into his time working in the Bush White House.

"This is a completely false allegation", he said.

The federal circuit judge declared he had "never done anything like what the accuser describes".

Christine Blasey Ford, a professor in California, has accused Kavanaugh of sexual assault while they were in high school.

Even the plan to hear from just Kavanaugh and Ford seems to be in flux.

"While the committee unquestionably needs to hear from both, there are other relevant witnesses who should be questioned under oath, in a public setting", the Democrats said in their letter. "What about experts who can speak to the effects of this kind of trauma on a victim?" she said in a statement.

Blasey Ford's attorneys told NPR's Morning Edition and other outlets that Ford is willing to testify.

Republicans, he says, feel that this is in their grasp and they do not want to do anything to cause things to go off the rails.
