West Nile virus is transmitted through bites from mosquitoes that pick up the virus after feeding on an infected bird, but most mosquitoes and birds do not carry the virus.

While people should be concerned, only one case of West Nile has been documented since previous year.

Symptoms of West Nile virus include fever, confusion, muscles weakness and severe headache.
