AC Milan target Tiemoue Bakayoko from Chelsea to boost their midfield options.

With so many incomings, Chelsea will need to trim the squad and the prominent candidate for a move away seems to be French midfielder Tiemoue Bakayoko. Chelsea have built a reputation for loaning out players in recent years but the situation surrounding Bakayoko is somewhat different.

But the 23-year-old struggled to adapt to the pace and physicality of the English game.

The Gaza Strip, home to almost two million Palestinians, has been reeling under a crippling Israeli blockade since 2007. Rocket sirens were still sounding in Israeli neighborhoods on Wednesday evening, while strikes in Gaza continued.

Tiemoue Bakayoko is close to leaving Chelsea.

AC Milan have built a reputation for recruiting young talent from within Europe, predominantly targeting those with sell-on value and vast potential.

Milan are keen to get a deal done and Sky Sport Italia claim negotiations are at an advanced stage. The Rossoneri are looking to reinforced in central midfield this summer, but general manager Leonardo admitted yesterday that the likes of Sergej Milinkovic-Savic are out of their price range. Bakayoko joined the Blues from Monaco last summer for £40m and started 25 Premier League games in his first season in the Premier League.

"Without doubt, we all like this style of play, all the players", he added.

Goal reported on Tuesday that a move was in the pipeline and it was completed formally on Thursday as part of the deal that saw Thibaut Courtois move in the opposite direction, hours before the transfer deadline in England.
