Idris Elba has been the fan favourite to replace Daniel Craig as James Bond for years

It remains to be seen where Bond 25 will rank amongst the Craig Bond films, but were' hoping that the actor ends his time as Agent 007 on a high note! It seems evident that there's a hope to see the actor as 007 and lead the film franchise in the post-Craig-as-Bond era, but there's no guarantee.

According to multiple reports, Equalizer 2 director Antoine Fuqua recently met with Bond producer Barbara Broccoli and talked about the franchise, presumably because his own name has come up before in connection with directing future installments.

For some fans, that possibility is more than enough. Of all Elba's many acting qualities, presence is arguably the one most readily showcased.

However, Elba himself has long played down the idea.

Twitter user @wordtoJude felt this news was a long time coming - "IVE BEEN ASKING FOR THIS FOR YEARS".

"For me, Idris Elba is a bit too rough to play the part". Elba addressed the rumors with humor tweeting back in December 2014.

Bond 25 hits theaters on November 8, 2019.

Elba is baffled by the rumours, and insisted that producers have yet to approach him about the role, and it's all up to the "will of the people".

Fucqua told The Daily Star he heard her say "it is time" for a black actor to be cast as the iconic spy. Elba has said on several occasions that he'd be very interested in the role, but in 2016 he also suggested that he may be too old to play the character (he'll be 47 when Bond 25 opens, just four years short of Daniel Craig).

Their next Premier League encounter of the season after Leicester will come against Brighton and Hove Albion on Sunday August 19. Mauricio Pochettino wanted Jack Grealish, however, Aston Villa refused to sell.
