Donald Trump insults LeBron James' intelligence: 'I like Mike'

The current Commander-in-Chief took the time to tweet a dissing message about NBA basketball player LeBron James, 33, and CNN journalist Don Lemon, 52, on the night of August 3 after the two had an interview in which LeBron spoke his mind about Donald. NBC News outlines some of the LeBron-Lemon discussion that may have ticked the president off, including James asserting that he thinks Trump uses sports to create divisive rifts.

"I believe the president is kind of trying to divide us", James said. "It's always been something that brings someone together". "He made Lebron (sic) look smart, which isn't easy to do".

Donald Trump, the man who callously separated children from their parents and forever traumatized them in the process, has viciously attacked LeBron James, the man who just opened a school for hundreds of poor children, probably saving them in the process. Thanks to resourceful Twitter users who've made it their job to expose the President's many fallacies, we now have record of Trump heaping praise over LeBron on countless occasions, contrary to his reactionary stance last night.

James has not tweeted about Trump's reaction.

James called Mr. Trump "U bum" on Twitter, writing that since the team already said they weren't going, "therefore ain't no invite".

Previously, CNN aired a segment in which the three-time National Basketball Association champion was asked whether he'd sit down with Trump, who James once called a "bum" for disinviting Golden State Warriors star Stephen Curry from the White House. "I don't want to put undue pressure on him, but I'm sure that at some point he will make the trip".
