The full cast of the series is now in attendance, and we are bound to learn a whole lot more about Doctor Who's next big season all throughout the SDCC 2018 weekend.
Today in Hall H at San Diego Comic-Con, the new Sonic Screwdriver Fan Collectible was revealed for the USA - a replica of what the 13th Doctor, played by Jodie Whittaker, will use in the new series of Doctor Who.
A new teaser trailer for the season was also shown at the panel, which found Whittaker's Doctor in a variety of different scenarios, including a desert and what seemed to be some sort of factory.
Taylor Swift stunned by fans' engagement backstage at Philadelphia concert
Taylor Swift is not about to let a little stage malfunction get in the way of entertaining her fans. The night before, Taylor performed her second sold out show in her hometown of Philadelphia.
In addition to executive producers Chris Chibnall and Matt Strevens, Whittaker was joined by Mandip Gill and Tosin Cole, who, with Bradley Walsh, play the Doctor's new companions.
Last Christmas the 12th Doctor, played by Peter Capaldi, transformed (or "regenerated" as it's called in Whovian lingo) into Whittaker. That said, it does affect how other people interact with her.
We can't say whether or not Jodie Whittaker reads Vulture, but she did answer one of our Burning Questions about this year's Comic-Con. "I really love television when it is a communal experience..." And it's true; as the trailer emphasizes, pretty much everything is new. "There is no barrier to entry this year".
Nail-biting trapeze stunt goes horribly wrong on America's Got Talent
The judges refused but commended them on their ambition and talent and promptly sent them through to the live shows. This is watch-between-your-fingers telly; you know something bad is going to happen, it's just a matter of when.
Following the release of the trailer, the BBC also debuted a new poster for Season 11, featuring a better look at the Doctor's new sonic screwdriver. It's a big mainstream-accessible series of 10 varied, exciting standalone stories. That energy will be key in bringing together the new companions (Bradley Walsh, Mandip Gill, and Tosin Cole), who were cast due to their "incredible range" which goes hand-in-hand with the varying levels of emotion in the new season, according to Chibnall. "That person in your life who has never watched Doctor Who, I want you to go out and recruit them".
But in the end, the panel was really about the importance of adding Whittaker and what it means not just for the series, but for the world moving forward.
Although no specific air date was announced for the new season of Doctor Who, the BBC confirmed that first episode of the sci-fi series will air in October 2018.
August rate hike 'less of a dead cert' after surprise inflation figures
Mr Brettell said the "inflation data combined with...lacklustre wage growth figures could force policy-makers into a re-think". This will affect the Bank of England's decision to raise interest rates next month.
