Tropical depression forms in the Atlantic

NOAA's National Hurricane Center in Miami, Florida issued a Tropical Weather Outlook Update at 5 p.m. EDT on Thursday, July 5, 2018, after Tropical Depression Two strengthened into Tropical Storm Beryl over the tropical Atlantic Ocean.

The Atlantic hurricane season typically begins to peak in August and September and will end on November 30.

Tropical Storm Beryl is forecast to degenerate into an open trough just east of the Lesser Antilles over the weekend. "The cold water could have profound impacts on this year's hurricane season, since warm water is the fuel source for tropical storms".

Lower oil prices or we will not ‘defend’ you
Oil prices climbed down from their 3 ½ year high to reach US$73 per barrel, with Brent trading at US$76.96 Tuesday afternoon. An oil pump jack is seen at sunset near Midland, Texas, U.S., May 3, 2017.

A second tropical wave has developed in the eastern Atlantic several hundred miles west-southwest of the Cabo Verde Islands, off Africa's west coast. It was moving west at 16 miles per hour.

The system is expected to deteriorate before moving closer to Peurto Rico in the coming days.

Shear is now high ahead of the storm over the eastern Caribbean (see Fig. 2), which should prevent significant strengthening. Some strengthening is possible, and the National Hurricane Center said the system could be upgraded to a tropical storm later Thursday or Friday.

Samsung phones reported to randomly send out photos and messages
While the messages weren't logged on the user's device the messages did show up on logs maintained by the user's carrier T-Mobile. It's also possible to prevent files from being sent by disabling access to a phone's storage in the Samsung Messages app .

The hurricane center put the chances of it becoming a tropical depression at 40 percent over the next five days, which is down from 60 percent on Wednesday.

The system poses no threat to Bermuda: current predictions say it will be about 1,300m to our south-south east as of Sunday morning, eastward of Dominica in the Leeward Islands.
