The new hardware has a data rate of 6,400 Mb/s, which is 1.5x faster than mobile DRAM chips used in today's flagship mobile devices. The 6400Mbps data transfer rate allows the new LPDDR5 to send 51.2GB of data, or approximately 14 full-HD video files (3.7GB each) in just a second.
The LPDDR5 module, for the technically interested, is the first 10-nanometer-class 8GB RAM we've seen, and it joins two 16GB RAM modules Samsung already produces in its premium 10nm class, although these are not designed for mobile devices.
Great news for Liverpool fans as Roma release statement on Alisson
Reports earlier on Wednesday claimed that Alisson has agreed a €5.5m-per-season contract with Liverpool . He is expected to cost Liverpool €75m (£67m).
Samsung Electronics announced that it has successfully developed the industry's first 10 nm class 8 Gb LPDDR5 DRAM.
The all-new 10nm 8GB LPDDR5 employs a highly advanced, speed-optimized circuit architecture that ascertain and ensure achieving ultra-high-speed performance. This new chip will support Samsung's objective of transitioning to the LPDDR5 standard for use in upcoming 5G and AI-powered mobile applications. Samsung thus bills it as the "most versatile mobile memory solution" for next-generation smartphones and automotive systems. The 8Gb LPDDR5 DRAM is latest in the premium lineup of DRAM from Samsung. When in "active mode", the new LPDDR5 DRAM will automatically lower its voltage in accordance to different application's operating speed in order to save battery life. Samsung has also configured the chip to avoid overwriting cells with "0" values and added a "deep sleep mode" to cut down power consumption by nearly half the "idle mode" of current LPDDR4X DRAM chips. A deep sleep mode has also been added to cut the power usage by half of that in the current LPDDR4X DRAM.
Microsoft's Major Nelson backtracks on promise of 'new Xbox hardware' at Gamescom
Microsoft confirmed today that it will be at Gamescom next month, and it teased some of the items it'll have on display. Original Story: Gamescom 2018 goes down in Cologne, Germany starting on August 21, 2018, and runs until August 25.
Samsung might be best known for its smartphones and consumer electronics but it might surprise you to know that its most steady and most profitable business as been from its silicon, particularly its memory and storage products. Samsung hopes to begin mass production of its entire next-generation DRAM lineup (LPDDR5, DDR5, and GDDR6) "in line with the demands of global customers". LPDDR memory chips are used in mobile devices such as handhelds and ultrabooks, which usually come with 64-bit buses, so the bandwidth can be increased to 50 GB/s.
