Police arrest possible serial killer in Houston

Houston police capture suspected serial killer

The man suspected in three fatal shootings is in custody in Houston.

Jose Gilberto Rodriguez was arrested at Eldridge and Fallbrook after a brief police chase Tuesday morning.

Both agencies also connected Rodriguez to an armed home invasion on July 9 and the shooting and robbery of a METROLift driver earlier Monday.

Authorities in Houston have branded the suspect in a week-long robbery spree a possible "serial killer" after he was allegedly linked to three seemingly random murders and the nonfatal shooting of a fourth victim. A pistol was allegedly found in the auto.

The Houston Police Department had asked for the public's help in locating him.

No other details were immediately available Tuesday morning, police tweeted.
