The man suspected in three fatal shootings is in custody in Houston.

Jose Gilberto Rodriguez was arrested at Eldridge and Fallbrook after a brief police chase Tuesday morning.

Both agencies also connected Rodriguez to an armed home invasion on July 9 and the shooting and robbery of a METROLift driver earlier Monday.

Authorities in Houston have branded the suspect in a week-long robbery spree a possible "serial killer" after he was allegedly linked to three seemingly random murders and the nonfatal shooting of a fourth victim. A pistol was allegedly found in the auto.

The Houston Police Department had asked for the public's help in locating him.

No other details were immediately available Tuesday morning, police tweeted.

Edward Magana was found dead Monday in a nearby Mattress One store, where the 57-year-old father of four from El Salvador worked, KPRC-TV reported.

"It's possible he was casing the neighborhood in search of his next victim", Gonzalez said.

Deputy Jorge Reyes, who initiated the traffic stop when the license plate came back stolen, said once Rodriguez realized he couldn't escape, he pulled over and put his hands out the window.

Harris County sheriff's deputies found Pamela Johnson, 62, inside her home Friday in the 2400 block of Bent Pine Drive.
