During the police chase, the suspects fired 34 rounds, according to police.

Theresa May is pleasing no one with her Brexit balancing act
Critics say the move is a bid by a government to escape the prospect of more rebellions in the Conservative Party. The government has so far provided no reason for the motion, which Labour is reportedly set to vote against.

That's when police said the driver tried to reverse towards officers and the driver was shot and killed.

Officers responded with 32 shots and ultimately surrounded the vehicle.

Las Vegas Police said officers are allowed to fire their weapon out of a moving vehicle if there is an "ongoing imminent threat" to public safety.

The pursuit came to an end after Umana unholstered his gun and fired through the windshield of his patrol auto, only pausing to reload his gun. The pursuit ended when the suspect's vehicle collided into the wall of an elementary school.

During the chase, the suspects fired several shots at the officers. "Nunez exited the auto as it was still moving near Hollingsworth Elementary School, 1776 E. Ogden Ave., and ran up steps outside of the school and attempted to enter, but the door was locked", Kelly said.

Police successfully arrested both Miranda and Nunez and called ambulances to treat them for their gunshot wounds, however Miranda died at the scene. This is the 10th officer-involved shooting in Las Vegas this year. "Very, very lucky", a spokesman for the Las Vegas Police Department said.

Nunez remains in hospital, and will face charges for the murder of a 25-year-old man and the attempted murder of a police officer.

Kelly praised Umana and Soloman as courageous and heroic.
