Humboldt Broncos Bus Crash Arrest, Charges Laid: Saskatchewan RCMP

A truck driver in Canada who crashed into a bus and killed 16 people in April was charged Friday with 29 counts of risky operation of a vehicle causing death and bodily injury. He was set to appear in court next week.

Saskatchewan RCMP said they will be releasing more details at a news conference on Friday at 1 p.m. local time.

Yesterday charges were laid against the 29-year-old driver of the semi-truck in the crash.

Sixteen people, including 10 Broncos hockey players, were killed and 13 others were injured in the collision that took place near Tisdale, Sask., on April 6.

It was also revealed Monday that the Duke and Duchess had chosen two hymns, two lessons and two anthems for the christening. The family held a private ceremony with close family, however, the Queen and Prince Philip did not attend.

Police have not disclosed their findings of the investigation that determined how the collision occurred.

Police say the charges of risky driving causing death and unsafe driving causing bodily harm could carry prison sentences of upwards of 14 and 10 years, respectively.
