The friends list now has a customizable favorites section at the top, for quick access to the people, groups, and chats you care about most. Game developers will now have the option of including other information in list entries as well, such as where players are located in their game, or whether they're available for matchmaking. You have the in-line media, the ability to create multiple text or voice channels in each group, and the ability to invite friends to a group with a link.it's nearly like someone at Valve opened Discord and decided to make the UI look more like Steams. Uploading images straight to the chat to share is also supported.

There are a handful of other new quirks, too, like (finally!) a promised invisible mode and custom friend-request links you can email or send outside Steam. This keeps your IP address private, which masks your physical location and also prevents network attacks.
