Telltale Games Announces Minecraft Stranger Things Projects in Partnership with Netflix

Telltale and Netflix partnership includes Stranger Things game, Minecraft Story Mode stream

We've reached out to Netflix and will include their response when we hear back. "The Netflix version of Minecraft: Story Mode will be delivered via video files and will accept commands via any remote equipped with directional and select buttons". TechRadar reports that the streaming company has teamed up with Telltale Games (known for their point-and-click adaptations of The Walking Dead, Batman, and The Wolf Among Us) to distribute some of their games on Netflix this year. It is more high-profile than the titles that precede it there, thanks entirely to the Telltale connection. But this isn't a new look for Netflix, it's an extension of an existing look.

Updated: Netflix is gearing up to launch a game based on its popular "Stranger Things" original series under a deal with Telltale Games, and it will roll out another basic interactive game - "Minecraft: Story Mode", more akin to a playable TV show - from the studio.

What experts say about forthcoming Kim-Trump summit
The discussions between the United States and North Korea are ongoing and have moved more quickly than expected . That armistice has yet to be replaced with a peace treaty, leaving the peninsula in a technical state of war.

After having worked on titles based around series far and wide involving major franchises like The Walking Dead, Game of Thrones, and more, Telltale Games has given a new look into what lies ahead for the studio outside of its current projects, and it looks like things are about to get odd.

"We don't have any plans to get into gaming". "There's a broad spectrum of entertainment available today", the company explained. "Games have become increasingly cinematic, but we view this as interactive narrative storytelling on our service". Earlier this year, IndieWire spoke with "Stretch Armstrong: The Breakout" executive producers Chris "Doc" Wyatt and Kevin Burke about their own choose-your-own-adventure narrative experiment, and they said the idea came during a story meeting with Netflix, which was already developing the technology. Reports suggest a partnership between Telltale and Netflix could be announced "any day".

Vivo unveils the Nex smartphone with a pop-out selfie camera
A SIM card tray is accessible from the bottom of the Vivo NEX , and that's where you'll find the phone's loudspeaker as well. It's unknown what amount of RAM and storage it will come with but it's expected to have a price tag in the region of US$600.

Obviously, the limitations of playing a game using streaming video is evident. What it's planning with Story Mode is a long way off from a service like PlayStation Now, which streams games out of a data center filled with powerful computers. But that approach also places limits on the types of games it can support (i.e. don't expect a Call of Duty: Netflix Edition) - which, as we now know, is by design.

Netflix and Telltale Games have formed a partnership with all kinds of exciting implications. The first of these games is Minecraft: Story Mode.
