Sarah Huckabee Sanders: VA Restaurant Kicked Me Out 'Because I Work For POTUS'

Virginia restaurant owner refuses to serve White House Press Secretary Sarah Sanders

White House Press Secretary Sarah Sanders tweeted Saturday morning that she was told to leave a restaurant because she works for President Donald Trump. Upon opening their Yelp page, the app shows an "active cleanup alert" to warn users numerous reviews may be motivated by news coverage.

Earlier this week, Secretary of Homeland Security Kirstjen Nielsen chose to depart from a Mexican restaurant near the White House when protestors began hassling her about the migrant children crisis. "Or you can ask for the 'Hate Plate, '" Mr Huckabee said in a tweet, quickly generating 2,000 replies in about 30 minutes.

Several hours after the incident, restaurant owner Stephanie Wilkinson told her side of the story to the Washington Post.

"I was babbling a little, but I got my point across in a polite and direct fashion", Wilkinson said.

One negative review of the restaurant online read: "I was dining at the Red Hen and witnessed them rudely refuse service to Sarah Huckabee Sanders. Sara Sanders is a hard working American who wanted to have dinner and you sent her away and there will be a price for that action".
