Now, thanks to both the initial Resident Evil 2 remake trailer shown at Sony's E3 press conference and a gameplay trailer that was uploaded later, we know at least one major change coming to the game.
The new trailer, which has been shown during Sony E3 2018 showcase, seems to suggest that the game will be somewhat darker than the original release. The preview was, to put it mildly, stunning. The original Resident Evil 2 game was released on January 21, 1998 for the original PlayStation, GameCube, and a few other platforms.
It's hard to describe just how much work seems to have gone into this remake; they've created photorealistic models from the ground up and will even have a few new surprises in terms of level design.
Other details haven't been revealed at the moment, such as how much the game will cost and whether there are any perks available for preordering.

The developers have announced that Resident Evil 2 Remake is going to have something for both veterans and those who are totally new to the survival horror series.
Resident Evil 2 remake players will also find themselves interacting with a cast of familiar faces, with the trailer confirming the return of Leon S. Kennedy and Claire Redfield, as well as the mysterious Ada Wong and the ill-fated RPD officer Marvin Branagh. Players can expect fresh take on the stories of Claire and Leon, as they move around the city in a desperate effort to stay alive. On the PlayStation Blog, Capcom used the Raccoon City Police Department as an example and said that there will be all new areas to explore. In addition to huge visual improvements, fans of the old game will now be treated to new twists and turns, and even "a new way to play". Players will feel they're in the shoes of heroes Leon and Claire, terrified to step out of the light for fear of what flesh-eating nightmares might await them in the darkness.
