The United States is evacuating several Americans from China amid concerns that they are suffering from a mysterious illness due to unusual noises. They said their experiments managed to replicate the metallic chirping sounds that USA diplomats heard in conjunction with the attacks in Cuba, raising the likelihood that the injuries were the result of ultrasonic signals.

State Department officials said that a medical team flown into China is testing other employees and their family members for related symptoms.

'Medical professionals will continue to conduct full evaluations to determine the cause of the reported symptoms, ' she said. The Times reported that the illnesses frayed some diplomatic relations with Cuba, but the recent reports have led others to consider if another country may be involved, including China or Russian Federation.

The illness resembles a brain injury and has already affected United States personnel in Cuba, its spokeswoman said on Wednesday. Ten Canadian diplomats and their relatives also suffered a odd illness. The US government has deemed those incidents "specific attacks" on American workers but hasn't publicly identified a cause or culprit.

Secretary of State Mike Pompeo released a statement on Tuesday saying the department established a task force last month "to direct a multi-agency response to the unexplained health incidents".

Early tests showed that the American worker in China had similar medical results to someone who has experienced a mild traumatic brain injury or concussion.

"Reported symptoms have included dizziness, headaches, tinnitus, fatigue, cognitive issues, visual problems, ear complaints and hearing loss, and difficulty sleeping", the statement said.
