Palestinian shot dead after throwing rock at Israeli soldier: Army

Ramallah: A Palestinian who threw a rock at Israeli troops in the occupied West Bank on Wednesday was shot dead by a soldier, the Israeli Army said in a statement.

Al-Najjar was shot dead by an Israeli sniper as she sought to reach and aid wounded protesters near the Gaza Strip perimeter fence.

However a senior Israel Defense Forces (IDF) officer, who declined to be named, said that many of his soldiers reported that their bullets hit one person and then continued in flight and hit another.

Palestinian medics said that at least 120 Palestinians have been killed since the start of the popular return marches on the borders between the Gaza Strip and Israel on March 30, with nearly daily clashes on the border.

Over 120 Palestinians have been killed since the start of the protests.

"We need real Arab support and solidarity with our cause", said Saleh, a student of Arabic literature who wore a medical mask against the tear gas.
