According to a Memphis police affidavit, Cheeks told the two kids, ages seven and eight, to ride in the kennels because there was not enough room inside the vehicle.

WMC reported that Leimome Cheeks, 62, of Memphis, was charged with two counts of child endangerment, which carries a maximum sentence of 12 years in prison if convicted.

In an affidavit, Cheeks admitted to placing the children in the pet kennels and transporting them from Whitehaven to Collierville to Downtown Memphis.

In the video, a child is seen climbing out of the trunk of the vehicle from the kennel, according to Cleveland 19 News.
