Blood Moon 2018 Date

A lunar eclipse, commonly referred to as a "blood moon", graces the night sky.

For those that may not be in the know, a blood moon is a very rare astronomical phenomenon that takes place because of a lunar eclipse, which happens when the earth comes in line between the sun and the moon.

There are several well-perpetuated myths when it comes to full moons; some people believe more babies are born during a full moon, and other believe that people act in unusual ways when the light at the sky is at its largest.

Overall, she described it as "killer", adding that it's "powerful", "modern", "strong", and "sexy". We'll see Lilly and her "killer" suit in "Ant-Man and the Wasp" when it opens July 6.

A "supermoon" is the event in which the Moon appears larger than its actual size, that takes place when the Moon reaches the perigee, its closest point to Earth in its orbit.

The eclipse on the night of July 27-28 will last a full 1 hour, 43 minutes.

Skygazers who missed out on January's Super Blue Blood Moon, the first lunar eclipse of 2018, have a good chance of witnessing the next celestial wonder as the eclipse will adorn the skies next month. July's Blood Moon will last almost one hour and 43 minutes, and is being touted as the longest of this century. This eclipse will be 40 minutes longer than the previous super blue "blood moon" in January 2018.

The five immigrants spoke on the condition that their last names not be used for fear of deportation by USA authorities. The president did not say how exactly he wanted things to change beyond a call for strong borders and no crime.

The timing if this total lunar eclipse means it won't be visible from North America, though much of the Eastern Hemisphere of Earth will see part or all of the eclipse.

Madagascar and the Middle East will have the best view of the eclipse around midnight.

People in Asia, Australia and Indonesia will get the greatest view of the eclipse during morning hours. McClure estimates that the total lunar eclipse will include partial eclipses that start at 6:24 UTC, or 2:24 p.m. EST, to 10:29 UTC, or 6:29 p.m. EST. "That [the middle] gets a longer-duration eclipse", he said. There will also be some time before and after when the moon is in the lighter part of Earth's shadow, which is called the penumbra. This NASA chart by eclipse expert Fred Espenak shows details and visibility projections for this "blood moon" eclipse. During a blood moon, the moon turns from a deep red to orange colour rather than completely disappearing when it passes through the shadow cast by Earth.
