All the New Details About the First ‘Game of Thrones' Spin-Off

HBO Has Ordered A Prequel To 'Game Of Thrones'

HBO Confirms Their ‘Game Of Thrones’ PREQUEL Series

Last week, HBO ordered the first (of many?) Game of Thrones prequel pilot.

"I've consulted with all of the writers on all of the successor shows, and several of them have visited me in Santa Fe for long days of discussion, and we've gone back and forth in email, text, and telephone, so I have definitely been involved", Martin wrote. This one really puts the PRE in prequel, since it is set not ninety years before GAME OF THRONES (like Dunk & Egg), or a few hundred years, but rather ten thousand years (well, assuming the oral histories of the First Men are accurate, but there are maesters at the Citadel who insist it has only been half that long). More likely HBO will want to work the phrase "game of thrones" in there somewhere.

We know that All Men Must Die but it's clear that all the Game of Thrones shows are still living. It's reportedly going to tackle the dark ancient history of Westeros, chronicling the world's descent from the golden Age of Heroes into its darkest hour.

Net neutrality rollback: FCC chairman Ajit Pai responds to critics
It will head to the State Assembly, where hearings will begin in June and must be voted on by the end of August. Pai says this system lets the FTC focus on "the bad apples" and allows other players "thrive in a free market".

Jane Goldman is set to serve as the prequel series' showrunner.

We may still be a year away from the last season of Game of Thrones, but at least we know it won't be totally over even after the final episode airs (praise be to the old gods and the new). It's unclear what the world of Westeros looks like that far into the past, so it's unclear at this juncture if we'll see the origins of the White Walkers, or if we get a glimpse into the lives of the early Starks, Targaryens or Greyjoys.

"Game of Thrones" has become worldwide famous.

Current "Game of Thrones" showrunners David Benioff and D.B. Weiss will move on to write and produce a new series of "Star Wars" films.

As for the other successor shows... if you have been following along, you know that we started with four, and eventually went to five.
