Elissa Ennis, the ex-girlfriend of Foster, testified that the initial accusations against the 49ers linebacker, which were the basis of the Santa Clara DA's potential case against the National Football League star, were all lies.

Ennis originally told police Foster punched her 10 times, dragged her down a flight of stairs, threw her phone, physically forced her outside and then spit on her.

Ennis later admitted to falsely accusing a former boyfriend of assault in 2011, for which she said she went to jail, according to the website.

The San Francisco Chronicle reported that Ennis recanted her allegations towards Foster whereas testifying at a preliminary listening to in San Jose. She said the injuries she suffered were a result of the road rage fight - and she was in the video of the fight that's been the crucial piece of evidence in the case. "Still, she denied she is receiving any money from Foster or anyone else for recanting her initial accusations that threatened to derail Foster's budding pro football career".

She admits to wanting to "f- up" and end his football career. I wanted him t go down.

When Ennis returned to the home she shared with Foster, she attempted to tell him about the altercation.

Dressed in a black-and-white striped dress, Ennis also admitted to stealing money and jewelry - more than $8,000 in cash and two Rolex watches - from Foster when she left his Los Gatos home and went back to her mother's home in Louisiana.

The defense is arguing Ennis injuries aren't consistent with the charges. The 24-year old linebacker out of Alabama was arrested on felony domestic violence and weapons charges in February, and officially charged in April. Nor is her testimony credible, he argued.

For now, the prosecution's case hinges on Ennis' initial statement to authorities and hospital workers February 11 - not what she said on the stand Thursday while under oath.

Foster's teammate, newly signed 49ers cornerback Richard Sherman, appeared to call out those who had criticized Foster in the wake of the allegations and before hearing the full story.
