IndiGo is facing the heat yet again.

Faced with the prospect of getting the axe from his employers, 23-year-old Kartik Madhav Bhat responded with a bomb - or at least an explosive phone call about one.

An Indigo airline employee has been arrested for making a hoax call regarding a bomb on a Mumbai-bound flight at the Indira Gandhi International Airport this month, police said on Sunday.

Following the hoax bomb call, a few Mumbai bound flights were also physically checked.

Earlier on May 3, a similar incident was reported when a hoax call about a bomb on a Mumbai-bound flight sent the security personnel at the Delhi airport into a tizzy.

IndiGo airline has been facing flak for incidents like manhandling a passenger and security breach where a passenger was made to board a wrong flight.

. As per details available, the call was made by an IndiGo staffer at the Indira Gandhi International Airport, New Delhi.

"When a police team searched his house, his mobile phone and SIM card were found", the DCP said.

Bhat had completed a diploma course in Hospitality and Aviation from an institute in 2013 and had started working in the aviation industry, the police said.
