Asiana Airlines' OZ552 departing from Istanbul, Turkey crashed into the tail of Turkish Airlines' A321 plane Sunday, breaking its wing as well as the other plane's tail and causing a fire.

Footage has emerged of the moment two planes dramatically collided at Ataturk Airport in Istanbul. The South Korean Asiana A330 airplane, which was heading for Seoul, can be seen making its way to the runaway as it accidently smashes the tail of the Turkish Airlines A321, which had just landed.

The collision resulted in a fire on the Turkish Airlines plane, with firemen rushing to the scene, the news organisation said.

Turkish Airlines was not immediately available for comment.

The Asiana plane then comes to a halt.

Asiana said the company itself is not involved in the investigation and did not disclose a clear reason for the accident.

The Incheon-bound Asiana flight was canceled and the passengers were offered hotel accommodations, the airline told the Korea Times.

"My sister Clare Chambers was on this Turkish Airlines plane in Istanbul yesterday, now tailless", Facebook user Pete Young posted on Monday.
