Elon Musk, in a [url= t=_blank] series of Tweets late Monday night, contends CR testers were using two earlier versions of the Model 3's that have since been updated.

Musk also made a point of noting that the Model 3 units tested by Consumer Reports were likely early production models and that Tesla would welcome the publication to re-test the vehicle using a more recent production model.

The Model 3's stopping distance was "far worse than any contemporary auto we've tested".

This is despite it opening more full line (clothing, home and food) department stores and adding more space during the period. M&S said they would be offered redeployment before redundancy was considered.

The first Model 3 stop was 39.6 m, near what Tesla claims for the vehicle. Rival publication vehicle and Driver noted similarly inconsistent performance with the brakes of the Model 3 it tested. "Also Consumer Reports has an early production auto". Model 3 now has improved ride comfort, lower wind noise and many other small improvements. When Consumer Reports reviewed Tesla's Model 3 recently, they found plenty to like about the luxury compact sedan. "Stopping distance results are affected by variables such as road surface, weather conditions, tire temperature, brake conditioning, outside temperature, and past driving behavior that may have affected the brake system".

Previously, Musk responded to queries on twitter about Australian prices for the Model 3 by saying that the cost will be the same as the United States plus conversion rates, import duties and taxes which includes luxury vehicle tax and GST.

Looks like this can be fixed with a firmware update.

The magazine also said almost all of the Model 3's controls are on a center touch screen direction with no gauges on the dashboard and few buttons inside the auto.

'If so, we will address this at our expense. A year ago, the magazine pulled its top ranking for Tesla's flagship Model S sedan due to the automaker's failure to install an emergency braking feature, but later reinstated it after Tesla performed an OTA to add that feature.
