Chelsea are eyeing up a top striker as they look to replace Alvaro Morata who looks likely to return to Juventus after failing to hold down a place in Madrid and a poor first season in England.

Tuttosport reports that there is no deal in place between the Blues and Juve for Morata, but the Premier League champions are already looking ahead to sign a replacement for the Spaniard in the person of Cavani.

Billy Vunipola is recalled after recovering from injury, last playing for England in the 2017 Six Nations, along with Mark Wilson.

Meanwhile, the Parisians will be willing to let the Uruguayan leave this summer in spite of him netting 28 goals in Ligue 1 - the highest total for both his club and in the division. So is Cavani the right choice for The Blues? He had a fall-out with Brazilian star Neymar Jr at the start of the season but seems to have accustomed well to acting as the second fiddle and has managed 41 goals and seven assists in all competitions this season. With Chelsea unlikely to qualify for the Champions League next season, a summer of re-enforcements is an apt plan.

The Uruguay worldwide is a prolific finisher having scored 39 goals across all competitions this season, taking his tally with the French club to 169 goals in 244 appearances across five seasons.

How Much Sense Does This Move Make?

At 31, he is not going to play every game every week and though he might be a game changer in the league, he is just not what they need at the moment.
