A march in rememberance of suspect

Police said he led them on a chase, jumped out and ran.

Local law enforcement said Robinson had been the target of an undercover drug investigation and was suspected of dealing narcotics.

During a Monday press conference, Jefferson Parish coroner Dr. Gerry Cvitanovich announced that Robinson's death had been ruled a homicide.

A young black man who died in the custody of four white Louisiana deputies had "significant traumatic injuries" to his neck consistent with asphyxiation, according to the coroner, who classified the case as a homicide.

Robinson's death is one of the latest in a string of nationwide incidents involving police being accused of using excessive force against black men and teens. They say the four deputies involved in Keeven's death should be punished for their actions.

With the investigation ongoing, Lopinto declined to conclude that the detectives used a chokehold during their arrest.

Scottish Parliament rejects UK's Brexit bill
The Scottish Government argues that all powers not now reserved to Westminster should automatically be devolved. However, this has never happened before, taking the country into uncharted constitutional territory.

"It's always good to have an independent person, so it does not give the appearance that you are covering up something", Jefferson Parish NAACP President Gaylor Spiller said.

"I like the fact that Sheriff Lopinto stepped up to the plate, and he's doing his part", Spiller told WDSU. "He knows that the NAACP will be on his trail".

WWL-TV writes that the march stems from Robinson's death last week from injuries he sustained during a struggle with Jefferson Parish Narcotics Detectives.

Sheriff Lopinto has already rebuffed some calls for him to end undercover work, and he said he expected his office to proceed normally for now. The detectives chased Robinson in his vehicle for a block, until he struck another vehicle, and then proceeded to chase him on foot.

Robinson scrambled out of the vehicle and over backyard fences until detectives caught up with him behind a home on Labarre Place.

After a "brief struggle" with him, detectives handcuffed Robinson.

Even if Lopinto had moved to reverse Normand, who retired a year ago to take a gig hosting a local talk radio show, there probably wouldn't be video to clarify how exactly Robinson got dead.

"They were in a struggle", Lopinto said.

"There's no doubt they used force".

"And when the police do press them, we want them to be able to stand and let the police do their job", Robinson said.

The four detectives involved in the arrest were read their rights and have given statements, Lopinto said.

"I think there needs to be some oversight with another agency investigating", she said. Louisiana State Police is conducting its own investigation into the death, as well as the FBI's Civil Rights Task Force.

"Today is just as hard as Thursday for this family". They administered life saving techniques to the Robinson, but to no avail. "And that's very, very hard for them". While they say the 22-year-old had his share of issues, they say he didn't deserve to die.
