Woolworths supermarkets around Australia were hit by a technical outage on Monday afternoon, leaving hundreds of customers stranded.
Woolworths has not yet confirmed the exact cause of the problems.
A woman named Rose, from Hoppers Crossing in Melbourne, told 3AW customers were offered lollies as they were asked to leave.

The outage has also shut down entire stores. Others said stores were being closed and that they were being turned away. "We were all queued up at the checkout and we were told to leave due to a power outage and I just spent an hour doing my groceries", she said.
"We can confirm that an IT issue impacted registers in our supermarkets for a short period of time this afternoon", a spokesperson for the supermarket chain told Computerworld.
Around 4:30pm, customers began to report stores they were shopping in were closing and they had been told an IT issue affecting the cash registers was to blame.

The spokeswoman did not say what caused the outage.
