Reigning Chicago Marathon champion Galen Rupp and a host of top United States women's contenders could produce the first American title sweep in 35 years at Monday's (today's) 122nd Boston Marathon.

"This is my 7th time running Boston", Wallace said.

Jordan Hasay, who set records at the 2017 Boston Marathon, announced on Twitter on Sunday that she has withdrawn from this year's race.

Though the actual contact came outside the box , the referee pointed to the spot with Lloris lucky to stay on the pitch. They combined beautifully with Ilkay Gundogan , who deputised ably for Fernandinho in the defensive midfield role.

The cloud on Hasey's horizon, however, is that she has reportedly been suffering from a foot injury.

The run will be noticeably different for him this year.

Hasay, New York City Marathon victor Shalane Flanagan and fellow Americans Desiree Linden and Molly Huddle had been expected to challenge Kenyan defending champion Edna Kiplagat to end the nation's 33-year wait for a home victor in the women's race.

"We support that decision and have invited Jordan to return to Boston next year".

On the men's side home runner Galen Rupp, beaten to this title a year ago by Kenya's 24-year-old Geoffrey Kirui, will seek to turn that result around as both men return to the race this year.

The women's field lacks Kenyan star Mary Keitany and Ethiopia's Tirunesh Dibaba, who will race in the London Marathon on April 22.In the hunt will be past Boston winners Buzunesh Deba of Ethiopia and Caroline Rotich of Kenya.

More recently Rupp has become only the second U.S. runner to break the hour mark for the half-marathon.
