Kentucky governor 'guarantees' children sexually assaulted, poisoned due to school closures

Two days after Kentucky Governor Matt Bevin said he "guaranteed" children were sexually assaulted because of teacher protests, he posted a video saying people misunderstood what he was trying to say. He asserted their failure to appear at school Friday would especially endanger the children of single parents who could not afford to miss a day of work.

In Sunday's video, Bevin apologized to those who were hurt by the things that were said, and that it wasn't his intent to cause harm. "We're not going to get exhausted".

Home Minority Flooring Chief Rocky Adkins, D-Sandy Hook, stated in a press release that whereas Bevin claims there was a misunderstanding, "the folks of Kentucky heard loud and clear what he stated and in the present day's video exhibits he nonetheless doesn't comprehend why so many had been understandably upset".

But the legislature's rush to change the state's troubled public pension system, coupled with Bevin's burn-the-bridges approach to politics, has led to a wave of protests and prompted at least 40 current and former teachers to run for public office this year - a lot of them Democrats.

After A Rainy Sunday, A Return Of Winter On The Way
I will be sharing more specifics on the timing for this system in my forecast at 9, 9:30 and 10 p.m. on WBRC. Widespread showers are expected to return late tonight and into Monday morning ahead of our next cold front.

"I guarantee you somewhere in Kentucky today a child was sexually assaulted that was left at home because there was nobody there to watch them", he said. Mary Nishimuta, executive director of the Kentucky Democratic Party, said Bevin's comments "crossed a line".

"I don't want to be out of my classroom".

Bevin decried the latest spending bill, which raises cigarette sales tax by half and increases sales tax on some consumer services, as "sloppy" and "non-transparent" in a Friday tweet, and believes the bill underestimates the cost of school funding needed. He said they would not raise enough money to cover the new spending. But 57 Republicans eagerly voted to override, asserting their independence after a tumultuous year marred by a sexual harassment scandal.

You can stand here all day and act like you are all for (education) until it comes time to pay for it.

Justin Bieber 'Punched Man Who Held Woman By The Throat'
We're told the guy was thrown out of the party and a short time later, was chasing an SUV. apparently believing Justin was inside. He allegedly "went ballistic" when he saw a woman, who appears to be his ex-girlfriend, and grabbed her by the throat.

The National Education Association (www.nea.org) is the nation's largest professional employee organization, representing more than 3 million elementary and secondary teachers, higher education faculty, education support professionals, school administrators, retired educators and students preparing to become teachers.

Although the teachers succeeded in protecting pensions for current workers and pressuring legislators into overriding Bevin's veto, Kentucky teachers could still face problems in the future. "We have to have this revenue to fund our schools".

The house voted 57-40 to override the veto of the tax increase and 66-28 to override the veto of the budget. He said he met with House and Senate leaders all week to propose a more "responsible way to pay for 100 percent of the requested education funding". In Arizona, protests and walkouts triggered Republican Gov. Doug Ducey's promise of a 20 percent raise by 2020.
