Dr Kayode Fayemi, Minister of Mines and Steel Development, has notified the national and state leaders of All Progressives Congress (APC) of his ambition to run for July 14, governorship election in Ekiti.
Fayemi alleged that the election was manipulated by soldiers in connivance with Fayose and two former ministers.
Others are, all traditional rulers in Ekiti State, his colleagues in the Federal Executive Council (FEC), former and serving governors elected on APC platform, as well as prominent sons and daughters of Ekiti.
"The insinuations from the ruling party in the state that Otunba Segun Adewale is not contesting in the forthcoming governorship election of 2018 is false, wicked, mischievous and a mere political propaganda emanating from the jittery camp of political gladiators threatened by the soaring popularity of our aspirant - Otunba Segun Adewale who has volunteered to pay from his private purse three months salary arrears to all the civil servants in Ekiti state devastated by unpaid eight months salary arrears by the present dictatorial government marauding herself as friend of the masses", Eponpolaye added. Modupe Adelabu; Nigeria's Ambassador to Hungary, Dr. Eniola Ajayi, and other notable party leaders in the state as well as former officials in his administration.
