'Extra' Exclusive: Abby Lee Miller Undergoes Emergency Spinal Surgery

Former "Dance Moms" star Abby Lee Miller nearly died after contracting an uncommon spinal infection that left her paralyzed from the neck down.

Miller had the procedure at 1 a.m. Tuesday after doctors performed an MRI and found she had an infection in her spine and needed surgery immediately, Extra first reported.

Orthopedic spine surgeon Dr. Hooman M. Melamed of Cedar Sinai Marina Del Rey Hospital told People that Abby Lee Miller "was going to die" if they did not do something to save her life.
