- The Mendocino County Sheriff's Office says the body of a woman was found in Northern California river that a family's SUV plunged into last week. The bodies of three of their children - Markis, 19, Jeremiah, 14, and Abigail, 14 - were found nearby.

The California Highway Patrol said that witnesses have told them they saw a SUV matching the description of the one owned by the Thottapilly family rolled through a highway pullout, slam into trees as it went down a 150-foot embankment and crash into the swift-moving waters of the Eel River.

The body of a young child has been discovered along a Northern Calfornia river by teams searching for a missing family whose SUV crashed into the rain-swollen waterway last week, authorities said Friday.

Police hadn't found the bodies of Devonte Hart and his adoptive sisters, 16-year-old Hannah Hart and 12-year-old Sierra.

The Harts moved to a home in Woodland, Washington, in mid-2017, neighbors said. The Thottapilly family - father Sandeep, 42, mother Soumya, 38, and their two children, son Siddhant, 12, and daughter Saachi, 9 - was driving from Portland, Oregon to San Jose when they disappeared.
