US President Donald Trump's re-election campaign has raised $US10 million ($12 million) in the first quarter of the 2018, leaving his re-election operation with $US28 million ($35 million) in cash.

President Donald Trump's 2020 reelection campaign has spent about $835,000 in legal fees so far this year, or about 22% of its total spending, according to the latest fundraising reports filed quarterly with the Federal Election Commission. Those bills topped $834,000 during the first three months of this year, as Trump donors picked up the tab at several law firms, including one handling some of the headline-grabbing controversies surrounding the president in recent months.

Trump's contributors have paid $93,000 since early January to Charles Harder, the Beverly Hills attorney who sought unsuccessfully to stop the publication of author Michael Wolff's explosive tell-all book Fire and Fury: Inside the Trump White House.
