Toys R Us, squeezed by Amazon.com and huge chains like Walmart, announced plans in January to close 180 USA locations and in recent days has missed payments to some suppliers as its USA division heads toward a likely liquidation.

Liquidation would mean the closure of all the chain's stores, including locations in Springfield, Auburn, Everett, Saugus, Braintree, Peabody and Woburn.

UVA loses De'Andre Hunter to injury
Hunter suffered a broken left wrist during the Cavaliers' run at the conference tournament in Brooklyn last week. No. 1 overall seed Virginia will be without one of its star players for the duration of the NCAA Tournament.

The retailer is expected to announce this week that it's liquidating its entire US operation, going out of business, and closing all of its 620 remaining stores. In January, it was announced that 182 of its over 800 locations - almost 20 percent of its stores - would be closing come February, but before February was through, the news of a further 200 closures was announced.

In the Bay Area, a complete shutdown would mean the closure of 19 Toys R Us and Babies R Us stores, not including nine local stores that the company in January announced would close as part of its effort to shutter 182 stores across the country and emerge from bankruptcy.

OT Cordy Glenn Traded to Bengals; Bills Swap 1st-Round Draft Picks
The Bills had been looking to unload Glenn and the Bengals were in desperate need of an upgrade at the offensive tackle position. He signed a six-year contract extension with the team in 2016, but injuries limited him to just six appearances last season.

But industry insiders say that without a dedicated toy retailer pushing the segment year-round and not just at Christmas, toy makers will have trouble introducing new products instead of the old standbys.

Toys R Us has been struggling for months to stay in business and now multiple reports suggest the toy retailer could be calling it quits. Rhode Island's Hasbro has its board games manufactured by Cartamundi in East Longmeadow. Officials are said to be losing hope that lenders can agree on terms of a debt restructuring, but the company has declined to comment on the speculation.
