Millennial 26-30 railcard website crashes within minutes due to demand

How and when to apply for the Millennial railcard- you will have to be quick

It’s time to claim a special new railcard for people between 26 and 30 but you’ll need to be quick

Millennials are fuming after the website to buy a brand new 26-30 railcard crashed within minutes of its launch.

Some saw a amusing side, with one person tweeting: 'Wonder if the plan is to make us wait until we're too old to use them for the 26-30 railcard'. However, as only 10,000 millennial railcards were released nationwide - yes really, the race is on to bag a railcard and the application website has already crashed.

The millennial railcard announced in Philip Hammond's last Autumn Budget largely grants those aged 26-30 the same privileges as holders of the 16-25 railcard; that is, a third off all travel. "Sort out your website to make it fair!" wrote Emily Thomas, from London.

Tom Drury, from London, wrote: "The launch of the new railcard is a shambles".

Trump to Quit JCPOA if significant changes not made
United States officials will pick up discussions with their European Union counterparts about the fate of the Iran nuclear deal. Trump administration officials say the talks are at an "advanced" stage entering their latest round of meetings in Berlin.

However, it's not good news for everyone, as the railcard can not be used on season tickets, which many working and commuting young people buy to make daily travel to work slightly cheaper.

There are 10,000 of the 26 to 30 railcards now available on a first-come, first-served bases.

The card is aimed at leisure travellers rather than commuters, as it offers no discounts on season tickets and a £12 minimum fare on all journeys between 4.30am and 10am, excluding weekends and public holidays.

In a message to the National Railcards Twitter account at 7.48am, youth worker Josh Booth, from Leeds, posted: "Been trying to get 26-30 railcard since 7am, your website crashing and been on hold on the phone since then".

Republicans in Congress, businesses brace for tariffs
Jeff Flake on Sunday said President Trump needs a 2020 challenge from someone who holds Flake's traditional conservative views . They believe that the tariffs could stimulate a trade war between the US and China.
