President Donald Trump's personal assistant John McEntee was abruptly escorted out of the White House on Monday night - and now a new report from CNN claims that he was ousted due to an investigation into what may be "serious financial crimes".
"The cause of the firing was an unspecified security issue", the Wall Street Journal reported, citing a White House official. He was escorted off the White House grounds before he was allowed to collect his belongings, even leaving without his jacket, the Journal reported. In particular, WSJ indicated there was an issue with his security clearance.

McEntee is just the latest aide to leave the White House amid issues with his security clearance, after White House chief of staff John Kelly enacted a series of reforms following the scandal involving disgraced White House staff secretary Rob Porter.

The top court's ruling had come on an appeal by the Bar Council of India (BCI) against the judgment of the Madras high court . However, the Court has allowed foreign lawyers to advise clients in India on a casual, temporary "fly in fly out" basis.
Though McEntee traveled alongside Trump, his profile was relatively low compared to other aides with similar tenure, like senior adviser Stephen Miller or the White House's director of social media Dan Scavino.
