The veteran has spent each of the past three seasons in Detroit and missed all but five games of the 2017 campaign with an elbow injury.

Ngata was with the Baltimore Ravens from 2006-2014, before playing for the Lions in 2015 and 2016.

With Beau Allen set to become a free agent, the Super Bowl champion Eagles were in the market for depth at defensive tackle. The Eagles have agreed to bring in defensive tackle Haloti Ngata on a one-year deal, per ESPN's Adam Schefter and Chris Mortensen.

The Eagles are adding defensive end Michael Bennett via trade with the Seattle Seahawks and already feature a deep and talented line, including interior pass rusher Fletcher Cox. He had two sacks in those games, however. Before the 2017 season, Ngata went to the The Sports Neurology Clinic at the CORE Institute in Brighton, Michigan, for an examination before deciding to play.

After spending most of his career as one of the league's best interior defensive linemen in a 3-4 defense with the Baltimore Ravens, he transitioned to a 4-3 with the Lions previous year.

Ngata was selected to five straight Pro Bowls from 2009-2013 and was a back-to-back All-Pro performer in 2010 and 2011.
