Elon Musk launches fastest Tesla ever from his Falcon Heavy rocket

The world's most powerful rocket, SpaceX's Falcon heavy, roared into space yesterday with unusual cargo onboard: a Tesla Roadster.

We knew Tesla's Roadster was fast, but 18,000 miles per hour fast??

The foundation's goal is to preserve libraries of human knowledge for interstellar travel and to protect these information in the event of calamity to Earth.

The private USA space flight company SpaceX on Tuesday launched the world's most powerful operational rocket into space in a much-hyped demonstration mission deemed to have the potential to bring a revolution in the space industry. SpaceX is targeting a long, oval orbit around the sun for the vehicle. The Heavy is equipped with three boosters and 27 engines created to provide about 5 million pounds of thrust. Known as "The World's Most Powerful Rocket", the Falcon Heavy managed to exceed Mars orbit and even kept going.

The Falcon Heavy's specs are impressive. A source of The Verge said the center core landed on water after only one of the three engines relight.

A new rocket flying a demonstration flight would typically launch something like a block of concrete to simulate the mass of a spacecraft.

Crowds on the beach in Cape Canaveral watch two of the three boosters from the SpaceX Falcon Heavy launched from Kennedy Space Centre's Pad 39A land moments apart at Landing Zones 1 and 2 at Cape Canaveral Air Force Station. Still, the image of the two boosters landing themselves simultaneously on adjacent landing pads seemed unreal. Musk thinks SpaceX could launch another Falcon Heavy soon following the successful demo launch.

"As we look forward to all that 2018 holds for the USA commercial space industry, this is an exciting way to kick off the new year", Stallmer said in a statement. "If it just clears the pad and doesn't blow it to smithereens".

Falcon Heavy is the largest rocket since NASA's Saturn V booster, which was used for the Moon missions in the 1970s.

While the Falcon Heavy has missions on the books, SpaceX's crewed lunar mission is no longer one of them.

Turns out it will go a bit farther out into deep space than that.
