Zardari and PPP chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari had claimed after ex-CM Sanaullah Zehri's resignation that the new leader of the House would be a PPP member. Addressing a joint news conference in Quetta, Deputy Opposition Leader in the provincial assembly, Engineer Zamruk Khan Achakzai along with other coalition partners hoped that the nominated Chief Minister Abdul Quddus Bizenjo would establish peace and security in the province and address the public issues.
Commentators' have taken note of the fact that Zardari's close aide was sitting in the assembly as Bizenjo was voted in and had taken the passenger seat of fresh CM's auto as he left for Governor House for swearing-in ceremony.
Bizenjo, besides his party, had the support of disgruntled members of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz and Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (Fazl).
Zehri had also been advised by Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi to step down as chief minister in order to defuse the political crisis.
Bizenjo won over 41 votes of the 54 votes cast while Agha received only 13 votes.

Haase won his quarter-final 6-4, 6-4 against Germany's Peter Gojowczyk who had beaten the top-seed and reigning champion Jack Sock the previous day.
Earlier, fifteen out of its 21 lawmakers had rebelled against it.
Abdul Quddus Bizenjo was born in Awaran on Januaray 1, 1974, and contested elections for the first time in 2002.
Zehri stepped down last week after opposition benches filed a no-confidence motion against him. In 2008, he was re-elected on PML-Q's ticket and joined Nawab Aslam Raisani's cabinet as minister for livestock, successfully completing a five-year tenure.
But, a thing that make his selection different from others is number of votes which he got during 2013 General Elections. This happened as the voter turnout was extremely low because the separatists had announced boycott of the election and threretened attacks on the polling booths. When he joined the PML-N-led coalition government in the province, Bizenjo was nominated as the deputy speaker of the Balochistan Assembly in June 2013.
He also praised former home minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti for sacrificing his ministry and BNP-Mengal, BNP-Awami, Majlis Wahdat Muslemeen, ANP and JUI-F who rejected every offer for strengthening democracy process.
