Earlier this week, the internet lost it - and understandably so - when it was finally confirmed that Marvel were pushing a Black Widow solo film into production. Marvel's reluctance to do a female-led superhero movie is quite outstanding especially considering the fact that they already have a great female hero to chose from in Scarlett Johansson's Black Widow.
Johansson's character was introduced to the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) way back in 2010 when she appeared in "Iron Man 2".

According to The Wrap, Marvel has hired Jac Schaffer to write a Black Widow movie.
The project is reportedly only in its neonatal stage with Jac Schaeffer being hired for writing a script. Schaeffer first found ground with her feature screenwriting debut "TiMER", which she also directed. Since then, she's written the 2014 Blacklist-recognized The Shower (which Anne Hathaway will star in and produce), the upcoming Dirty Rotten Scoundrels remake Nasty Women and the Disney short Olaf's Frozen Adventure. After years and years of intense demand from fans, ScarJo's beloved Avenger will now get her very own movie and with talk of a possible R-rating to accompany it, people couldn't be more excited.
YouTube hasn't shut the door on working with Logan Paul
YouTube was criticised for moving slowly in response, taking almost two weeks to take action. However, Paul took it upon himself to step away from publishing videos for some time.
Marvel President Kevin Feige considered a number of candidates before hiring, Schaeffer, who is an up and coming writer beginning to make a name for herself.
A flashback film tying Widow to modern themes in the next phase of Marvel films is a likely approach, adding in a ton of other characters, so stay tuned for details.
Vikings activate Bradford, Bridgewater will reportedly be No. 2
However, a source close to the team has told The Viking Age that Bridgewater will actually be among the Vikings' inactives on Sunday.
However, despite Black Widow's prominence in the MCU and her popularity among fans, Romanoff continued to be relegated to the sidelines with supporting roles. Either way, given how popular Black Widow is both in the comics and the movies, I suppose it's better late than never that the MCU has finally decided it's worth exploring what her own story would look like.
