2017 was a record year for JLR car sales

2017 was a record year for JLR car sales

Jaguar recorded the fastest growth, with a 20% increase in sales bringing its annual figure up to 178,601.

JLR has said that its seventh consecutive year of growth has been driven largely by the introduction of new models combined with the increased uptake of its Ingenium clean diesel and petrol engines. Retail sales in December 2017 were up in overseas markets (19.0%) and in China (12.6%) but down in the United Kingdom (15.8%), U.S. (9.2%) and Europe (4.6%), reflecting weaker market conditions in the United Kingdom and to a lesser extent the US.

146,399 cars were sold in China, ranking it as the company's largest sales region in 2017.

Owners will need to refill a 5.4 gallon tank of fluid for the exhaust treatment system roughly every 10,000 miles, Filipe said. It costs $4,000 more than a similarly equipped 2.7-liter V-6 Lariat, or $2,400 over a similar 3.5-liter V-6 version.

Tata Motors-owned Jaguar Land Rover today reported 6.5 per cent increase in global sales at 6,21,109 units in 2017. Similarly, Jaguar Land Rover's retail sales were 138,643 in Europe, in line with the previous year despite hard market conditions in the region.

This year sales will ramp up for forthcoming models going on sale in the coming months including Jaguar's new E-PACE compact performance SUV, the refreshed Range Rover and Range Rover Sport (including plug-in hybrid models) and the Jaguar I-PACE electric performance SUV.

The increasing popularity of Jaguar Land Rover products is a great testimony to our focus on building a highly capable and customer friendly sales and service infrastructure to support these aspirational brands. Sales were down 0.5% down in other Overseas markets.

Brokenshire needed to appoint a neutral chair to take charge of forthcoming talks geared towards restoring power-sharing. In a letter to May, Brokenshire said he would not be able to give the "complete focus" required to resolve the crisis.

Tata's subsidiary also said it is facing tough times in the United Kingdom, where it expects to be hit by low consumer confidence and new diesel taxes.

"Jaguar retail sales were 15,079 vehicles in December, down 7.8 percent compared to December 2016 as solid sales of the long wheel base Jaguar XFL in China and the introduction of the E-PACE were more than offset by softer sales of XE and XJ", the statement said.
