Neither wildly futuristic like the first Insight 2-seater of 2000, plain looking like the first Civic Hybrid of 2003, or thrifted to painful levels like the second-generation Insight of 2010, the new 2019 Insight will be positioned as a premium compact hybrid slotting above the Civic in Honda's lineup. That battery, by the way, will be located under the rear seats and won't rob the Insight of the ability to fold the rear seatbacks for longer cargo.
We've reached out to Honda for information on how closely the new Insight is related to the current Civic, and we'll update this article if we get more details.
The original Insight of 1999 was rated as the most fuel-efficient petrol vehicle certified by the EPA at the time.
We caught our first glimpse of the all-new Insight back in December when we also learned that a prototype version would debut at the 2018 Detroit Auto Show. On the assistance front, the new Insight will feature a collision mitigation braking system, lane departure warning, and adaptive cruise control.
Smoking iPhone battery forces evacuation at Zurich store
Last year's update acts as a workaround by slowing down the performance of phones with older and low-charged batteries. As previously noted , Apple dropped the price for replacement batteries from $79 to $29 throughout 2018.
The new 2019 Honda Insight will use the third-generation version of the company's 2-motor hybrid system, which allows the vehicle to run on electric power much of the time.
Actually, the look of the Insight, Accord and Clarity are all very similar and the size differential between the three cars isn't substantial, which could cause some buyers to have to think long and hard about which of the three to buy because of the similarity.
NAIAS 2018: Kia Forte facelift gets Stinger-inspired design
At the time, it was unclear if this vehicle would be the Cerato or Europe's new C'eed, and it may indeed end up launching as both. Kia is gearing up to launch the all-new 2019 Kia Forte sedan at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit.
The Insight's 1.5-liter inline-4 that operates on the highly efficient Atkinson Cycle is paired with Honda's clever two-motor hybrid system, which substitutes entirely for a conventional transmission. The EX trim and above will include Honda LaneWatch to help drivers keep tabs on their blind spot. It appears that in addition to the luxurious looks and high-end interior, the 2018 Honda Insight will ship with some pretty impressive driver utilities that make staying safe on the road an easy and convenient task. New on the 2019 Insight will be Traffic Sign Recognition. Honda says the 2019 Insight will deliver an EPA-rated fuel economy of 50 mpg combined or better.
It will be a slightly smaller hybrid four-door sedan than the Accord Hybrid, new for 2018, for which fuel-economy ratings haven't yet been released. No word yet on whether there will be a plug-in version.
Fans buy billboard ad, ask Alabama if it wants to play UCF
While the buzz continues over UCF's National Championship, a new ranking was released that left the Knights in the No. 1 position. The billboard reads: "Congratulations Alabama!" Murphy challenged Rogers to a bet over the UCF-Auburn Peach Bowl football game.
The parts coming from outside the USA likely include the hybrid powertrain, which is similar to that used in the 2018 Honda Clarity Plug-In Hybrid, which went on sale in December. Compared to the first two generations, the biggest change this time is that the Insight will be a sedan. Launching this summer, the production version of the 2019 Honda Insight hybrid will be built in the company's appropriately named Greensburg, Indiana plant along with the Civic and CR-V.
