HBO, the network that aired the musical comedians' cult TV show a decade ago, has announced plans to broadcast a new TV special.

After hinting at a return last week, Flight of the Conchords have officially confirmed that they will be releasing an hour-long comeback special on HBO this May.

Taping before a live audience during their United Kingdom tour, the presentation will feature the duo performing their classics and new original songs. Two years later, they debuted their original series Flight of the Conchords, in which they played fictional versions of themselves. After that the two came back to HBO in 2007 for the debut season of the series "Flight of the Conchords". Since then, McKenzie won an Oscar for writing songs for 2011's The Muppets, with Clement now co-starring on FX's Legion.

Since the end of the show in 2009, McKenzie has served as music supervisor on The Muppets, which earned him an Academy Award for Best Original Song. Executive producers are Clement, McKenzie and Mike Martinovich.
