Tennessee will hire Alabama defensive coordinator Jeremy Pruitt as its head coach, according to Sports Radio WNML in Knoxville.

According to Football Scoop, Pruitt has had discussions with former Vol and current Colorado State cornerbacks coach Terry Fair about joining his staff at Tennessee.

Chris Low reported that a press conference is slated for Thursday evening to introduce Pruitt as the next coach of the Vols.

There aren't many sure things in college football, but if Pruitt delivers on his promise to build a top notch staff, I think the Vols could be competing for SEC championships under Pruitt within a few years. However, he left prior to Alabama's appearance in the national championship game against Clemson.

He also said that there were no plans for Guterres to visit North Korea, though next week he will make an official visit to Japan.

Pruitt won three national championships (2009, 2011 and 2012) while at Alabama.

For Volunteers' athletic director Phillip Fulmer, he should look no further than sophomore linebacker Mack Wilson as to how much Pruitt cares about the team he coaches.

Pruitt is curently in his second season as defensive coordinator under Nick Saban.

At Alabama, Pruitt had an annual salary of $1.3 million in 2017. Over the years, Pruitt has managed to land an all-star list of commitments for Alabama, Georgia and Florida State from the likes of RB Derrick Henry, RB T.J. Yeldon, DB Jalen Ramsey, LB Dylan Moses, DE Lorenzo Carter, LB Mack Wilson, LB Reggie Ragland, LB Roquan Smith, LB Ryan Anderson, LB C.J. Mosley and OL Alphonse Taylor. The Tide are the fourth seed this year.

At the end of season five, the series had diverted focus on Wright's character, who was sworn in as the USA president. Production on the first two episodes of season six was already completed by the time of the production hiatus.

Pruitt, 43, is a two-time Broyles Award finalist as the top assistant coach in college football. Once word leaked that Ohio State defensive coordinator Greg Schiano had been tabbed for the job, an outcry from alumni, fans, former players and politicians ultimately squashed the deal.

At long last, the mother of all coaching searches is over. That means he will basically be working two jobs, game planning for the Tigers while also recruiting and putting together a coaching staff at Tennessee.

Pruitt was also a recent finalist for the Mississippi State head coaching position, but the Bulldogs hired Penn State offensive coordinator Joe Moorhead on November 28.
